The text is presented as written. Line breaks are preserved from the archived source.

I rise in the cool darkness of the morn,
As twittering birds strike up their joyous refrain.
The eagle soars out for its day's hunt,
As the flowing silver waters turn golden.
A warm breeze whistles through the swaying boughs,
As the grass flames green about my feet.
The proud rooster sounds his clarion call,
As butterflies flutter about and flowers bloom.
Dew settles on the spidery domes in the grass,
As the chittering squirrels scamper in the trees.
The dark east fills with golden light,
As fluffy clouds skim by in the turquoise sky.
The spirits of the woods, meads, hills and vales,
Burst into a lively song as the sun rises.
A scarlet arc of naked flame swells out,
Brightening the blushing, vaporous east
