The blushing sky turns light and bright,
As the early morning sun peeks over the earth's rim.
The lusty cries of a newborn mingle with the dawn chorus,
As a new life enters the world at the first light of day...
The morning passes as the sun rides the heavens,
A cool morning breeze strikes up chorus in the branches.
Loud come the cries of children playing under the trees,
Playing and laughing, without a care in life, full of joy.
The noon sun shines down bright and hot,
Casting no shadows on the ground, it blazes down,
Upon a solemn occasion, in a canopy under the sky,
As man and wife pledge troth to live together till the end.
Afternoon comes with a stillness in the air,
No leaf stirs, no bough moves, not a voice is heard.
People in offices run through corridors,
After-lunch meetings thrash out business deals.
Evening comes with a cool breeze blowing,
As the clouds obscure the sun descending.
An old couple sit in their verandah,
In rocking chairs, contended and nostalgic.
The sun sets at the end of the day,
Lighting up the heavens in smoky red.
Mingled with it comes the smoke from a pyre,
From the river bank, marking somebody's passing.
The moon rises upon a solemn vista of rest,
The day is long gone and dead.....
